I am pleased to announce this week that Mrs. Elba Campagna has accepted my invitation to serve as the new assistant principal of All Saints Catholic School. Mrs. Campagna has twenty years experience working as a teacher and administrator in the public school system of Louisiana. She has held the position of P.E. teacher and served as the Assistant Principal of both Andrew Jackson Fundamental High School and St. Bernard High School.

Last evening approximately three hundred students, faculty members and parents gathered in the church for a Mass in honor of Mrs. Fisher on the occasion of her upcoming retirement. The beautiful liturgy was followed by a reception in the gym where friends, past and present, visited with Mrs. Fisher and shared favorite memories of their time at All Saints. It was truly a celebration of the gift that Mrs. Fisher has been to our community for the past three decades.

Congratulations to all of our 2nd grade students who received their First Communion on Saturday morning and to those who will be receiving the Sacrament for the first time in the weeks ahead! It was a tremendous joy to see the children encountering Jesus for the first time in the Eucharist. Thank you, Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Cummings, for preparing the students so well during their Sacramental year

With warm temperatures and bright sunshine, last Thursday was a beautiful day for the 3rd Annual Race for Education. It was great to see the enthusiasm of the students as they ran their hearts out over the course of the hour long event. While the Race remains a strong source of revenue for our school, it also provided a wonderful opportunity for students and parents alike to demonstrate their school pride and celebrate the goodness of our community.

Congratulations to all of our 8th graders who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Saturday morning. I was so proud to be able to witness each of them receiving an outpouring of grace and the Holy Spirit after making a personal commitment to their Catholic faith! The seeds of faith and belief sown over the course of many years continue to bear much fruit!

Beginning Monday, April 14th teachers will administer the Terra Nova standardized testing program to students in grades two through seven. With the approach of testing week, now is the time for us to complete the final “warm-up routines”.
