Registration for New Students, Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten

Open registration for new families as well as siblings of currently enrolled students begins today and will extend through Friday, March 7th. Enclosed in your child’s take-home folder are forms for those families who responded to our survey earlier this year and expressed interest in enrolling a sibling in the Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten programs. If you are interested in submitting an application for another child and did not receive the appropriate forms in today's folder, please contact the office or stop by to request an application.

Effective with the 2008-2009 school year, All Saints is discontinuing the practice of granting “limited acceptance” to the final nine children enrolled in the Pre-Kindergarten program. This policy, introduced five years ago when a third class of Pre-Kindergarten was initiated, was instituted in an effort to balance the growth of the school with the tradition of offering sibling students first opportunity for any openings that might exist.

Since its inception, this policy has been effective, providing an opportunity for those who wish to defer enrollment until Kindergarten to do so with the confidence that the school would make every effort to reserve a place for their child. Additionally, all students in the Pre-Kindergarten program who have wished to continue in the program at All Saints have also had the opportunity to do so.

In light of this fact, beginning with registration for 2008-2009, those families accepted into the Pre-Kindergarten program will be guaranteed a place in the Kindergarten. Any current families who choose to defer enrollment until Kindergarten will still have the assurance that additional openings remain by the very fact that the program enrolls 60 students, six more than the entire Pre-Kindergarten. While there is no guarantee that families who choose not to enroll a child in Pre-Kindergarten will have a place in the Kindergarten, the recent history of the program indicates that it is likely that there will be sufficient spaces available.

A final note about the Pre-Kindergarten registration process … We will assume that all current families would prefer enrollment in one of the two morning Pre-Kindergarten classes. If this is not the case and you would for any reason prefer the afternoon session, please indicate this by way of a note on your application.

Realizing that the tuition for Pre-Kindergarten may pose a challenge for some families who otherwise would choose to enroll a child in the program, the parish and school will continue to offer financial assistance for sibling families.
