Eagle's Nest
This year we will also continue to use the work of Ron Clark, The Essential 55, An Award-Winning Educator's Rules for Discovering the Successful Student in Every Child as a basis for fostering virtue formation. During the summer months, a committee comprised of faculty and staff met several times at Panera to break bread together and to brainstorm as to how the “essentials” might be organized in a meaningful way for our students.
The result of their planning sessions is a new program entitled The Eagle Essentials, a concept that merges our mascot (the eagle) with twenty-four of the essentials identified by Ron Clark. Again this year we will focus on one or more of these essentials each week with the hope of further transforming our community and encouraging respect and exemplary conduct among our students. Updates and reminders about this program will be included in the Eagle's Nest column published here weekly.
