The Sentinel - Volume 8, Issue 17

Posted Wednesday, December 19, 2007

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of All Saints Catholic School, Fr. Bob has announced that there will be a special “Pastor’s Holiday”. After consultation with the faculty, I am pleased to announce that the date selected for the holiday is Friday, February 15th. As such, the Presidents’ Day holiday will be extended to a four day weekend!

As I walked the hallways on Monday, I paused to look more closely at the beautiful Advent themed bulletin boards in the primary wing. There I found a display of colorful cards created by the Pre-Kindergarten students, each one representing a “Gift for Jesus”. The following are a few highlights that provide a little humor as well as inspiration during the remaining days of Advent.

Gifts for Jesus….

Cleaning my bedroom
Helping with the trash
Pet my dog, Coco
Spiderman PJs
Trying a piece of pear for my mommy
Pick a toy for a needy child
Brush my teeth on my own
Praying to Jesus for Mrs. Knowles to get a vacation
Squeeze toy to make him smile
To buy food for people who don’t have food
To tell my mom and dad that I love them
Pray
My love

On behalf of the faculty and staff of All Saints Catholic School, may your Christmas Season be filled with the joy of Christ’s birth and may your New Year overflow with every good blessing!

Prayer for Advent ~ Week IV

Father, all-powerful God, your eternal Word took flesh on our earth when the Virgin Mary placed her life at the service of your plan. Lift our minds in watchful hope to hear the voice which announces his glory, and open our minds to receive the Spirit who prepares us for his coming.

Amen.
