Middle School Students Soar at Thomas Jefferson Math Competition

Posted Wednesday, November 15, 2006

Five 7th grade students represented All Saints at the Intermediate Math Open held at Thomas Jefferson High School on October 28th. Greg S., Maureen M., Holly S., Nicole G. and Cassandra L. teamed up with 7th and 8th grade students from across the region. Activities included the “guts” round in which teams answered as many problems as possible correctly as points were tallied on a huge screen. The orienteering round found students running around the school trying to compute the room number in which to find their next problem. All Saints had two individual winners in the pre-algebra category ~ Nicole G. placed second and Cassandra L. placed third. Congratulations to our trophy winners and to each mathematician who attended the event.
