A BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

Dress Code/Uniforms

Students in grades K-8 are required to wear the full school uniform during the school day and at designated school functions.  The following is a summary of the uniform. 

 

GIRLS UNIFORMS

Girls Uniform (Grades K-5)

  • Navy, Gold & White Plaid Drop Waist Jumper
  • White Short Sleeve Peterpan Collar Blouse (Summer and Spring)
  • White Long Sleeve Peterpan Collar Blouse (Winter)
  • Navy Crew Neck Cardigan Sweater (Worn with jumper)
  • Low Cut Solid Black Athletic Shoes (Optional Shoe: Plain Black Mary Jane Strap Shoe may be worn with jumper)
  • Navy ribbed or regular tights, navy knee-hi or white crew socks
  • Bow for the hair must match a color in the uniform.  (Color must be solid: navy, white, black)

Girls Uniform (Grades 6-8)

  • Navy, Gold & White Plaid Wrap Around Kilt
  • White Short Sleeve Polo Shirt with school logo (Summer and Spring)
  • White Long Sleeve Button-down Collar Blouse (Winter)
  • Navy with White Trim V-Neck Sweater Vest (worn with winter blouse)
  • Black Penny Loafer Shoe
  • Navy ribbed or regular tights, navy knee-hi or white crew socks

While the black athletic shoe remains the standard for all students in grades Kindergarten through fifth, girls in those grades may opt to wear the black Mary Jane, with the jumpers, (available for purchase through Flynn & O’Hara). In the middle school, girls wear a black, rubber-soled penny loafer and boys wear a black, leather oxford shoe.

BOYS UNIFORM

Boys Uniform (Grades K-5)

  • Grey Twill Pants (Flat Front)
  • White Short Sleeve Polo Shirt with school logo (Summer and Spring)
  • White Long Sleeve Button-down Collar Shirt (Winter)
  • Grey Tie (Mass Days and Special Occasions- worn with winter shirt)
  • Navy V-Neck Sweater Vest (must wear during winter dress of long sleeve button down shirt)
  • Low Cut Solid Black Athletic Shoes
  • Navy Crew Socks (Year round with twill pants)
  • Black belt

Boys Uniform (Grades 6-8)

  • Grey Poly/Wool Dress Pants
  • White Short Sleeve Polo Shirt with school logo (Summer and Spring)
  • White Long Sleeve Button-down Collar Shirt (Winter)
  • Navy/Grey Striped Tie (worn with winter dress of long sleeve button down shirt)
  • Navy with White Trim V-Neck Sweater Vest
  • Black Oxford Shoe
  • Navy crew socks (year round)
  • Black belt

PE UNIFORMS

Students in grades 6-8 “dress out” for P.E. class. Middle school students are asked to bring their P.E. uniform, white crew socks and athletic shoes to school on days when they will attend P.E. class. Athletic shoes can be of any color.

The following is a summary of the P.E. uniform for students in grades K-8.

  • Light Steel Gym Tee Shirt with Silk Screen with school logo
  • Navy Micromesh Nylon Gym Shorts with Silk Screen with school logo
  • Navy Sweatshirt with Silk Screen Logo (Grades K-5)
  • Navy Sweatshirt with Embroidered Logo (Grades 6-8)
  • Solid black athletic tennis shoes
  • Solid white crew socks

OTHER UNIFORM INFORMATION

No emblems are to be found on sweaters, blouses, shirts, pants or any other part of the uniform. Girls with pierced ears may wear one pair of buttons in their earlobe only; necklaces, bracelets (except for watches), dangling earrings, hoop earrings are not permitted. Although clear nail polish is permitted, no artificial nails or French tips are permitted in any grade. Girls may not wear makeup; this includes colored nail polish. Boy’s hair is to be cut above the collar, eyebrows and ears. Fad haircuts of any kind, including dyed hair, are not permitted. Parents are asked to check their children clothing before they come to school to make sure they are dressed in accordance with the uniform code.

If a family emergency should prevent a student from wearing the uniform for a given time, the parents are asked to write a note to the principal who will permit the exception as long as it is necessary.

Parents are asked to clearly label their child’s uniform with name and grade level in order to facilitate the return of items that may be misplaced or lost.
